San Luis is popular with Doves and is the biggest roosts in the whole of central Argentina. Its landscape of vast Calden woods and soft hills as well as huge cornfields complement each other to provide support and food and be the perfect habitat for millions of Doves.
Capalen Lodge is the top dove shooting destination in San Luis, Argentina, with a lot of other attractions and features to serve as the perfect getaway. Hunting takes place in a natural environment setting with rivers and cornfields, surrounded by the typical San Luis landscape of soft hills and Calden Woods.
Hunting days are fun filled, starting by 7 AM with a continental style breakfast and then a short trip from the lodges to the hunting fields, led by the guides and the drive lasting just about 30 minutes. Out in the field, tents will be set-up, where visitors can rest between hunt sessions for refreshment drinks, regional wines, special treats and Argentinean asado barbecue.
Hunting days end 5 PM when visitors will be returned to the lodge for an evening of feasts and dining with bonfires and spectacular meals made out by top chefs.
Capalen visitors’ lodge is a luxury palace with a rich history of been initially built for a Belgian royal family from the early 20th Century. The main lodge can accommodate up to 10 hunters in 5 double rooms, which have private baths.
Capelen is the perfect definition for a natural environment, with a private lagoon, and 150 acres of attractive Hills and Woods.
Activities for Non Hunters
The Capelen packages feature a lot of activities enjoyable to not only hunters but also to fun lovers of all age groups. Some of these activities are:
~ Motorboat and rowboat rides
~ Horseback riding
3 nights – 2 1/2 hunting days (Minimum 4 hunters)
Package covers: Accommodation, feeding (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), transport to and from hunting sites, open bar with soft drinks, beer, and local first class wines, daily cleaning of guns, and bird boy.

Equipment & Gear
It is important to note that temperature changes in the region depends not only on seasons, but will often vary between times of the days. That is, regardless of the time of the year, mornings can be windy and 40 degrees (F) but calm in the afternoon with temperature as high as 70 degrees (F).

~ Leather shooting gloves are strongly recommended to avoid blisters
~ Upland hunting boots or comfortable sneakers (Waterproof recommended)
~ Clothing for layering: sweaters, long sleeve cotton shirts, polar fleece zip-up tops
~ Lightweight thermal underwear recommended from 1 July through 30 September
~Side-carry shooting pouch or shell vest
~ Lightweight rain suit and waterproof hat
~ Shooting glasses, sunglasses, sunscreen and lip balm
~ Toiletries Stomach/diarrhea medication

~ Important Notice
Argentina has similar electricity power runs as Europe, which is 220 volts but Capelen provides converters to adjust power to suit the 110 volt appliances and gadgets popular with the United States clients. Such facilities may however not be provided at the Buenos Aires city hotels and airports.
Terms: Global Sporting Safaris accepts payment by business check and personal check, as well as by Bitcoin. American Express, Visa, and MasterCard credit card payments are also accepted, but they do incur a surcharge of 3.5% in addition to the price listed in Hunting Packages above.
A 50% deposit is required upon booking to reserve your spot. In some cases, we can split your deposit into 3 payments, please inquire. Global Sporting Safaris will provide a Disclaimer & Waiver of Liability which must be sighed and returned. All hunts are in U.S. dollars. Final 50% payment is due no less than 75 days prior to your hunt date. Trips booked within 75 days of arrival require payment in full. Total costs of the hunt are fixed.
