wyoming-mule-deer-huntingFew other states can beat the trophy quality you can find on Montana and Wyoming mule deer hunting trips, and this outfitter is one of the most reliable and experienced operating in the area. With a huge variety of habitats and terrain on specially-selected leased land, they can match the hunt to your physical capabilities, desired trophy size, and preferred hunting style.

Mule Deer Hunting in Wyoming

In Wyoming, you’ll have access to the deer’s paradise of the Greys River in Lincoln County, which is ranked among the top five counties in America for trophy mule deer. Because the terrain is extremely rough, this hunt is done by horseback. This outfitter’s tough and reliable mountain horses will take you to wherever your quarry goes.

You’ll sleep in a comfortable lodge each night. In the morning, your guides will take you into the mountains, frequently to altitudes of more than nine thousand feet above sea level. Here, among the boulder fields and high-altitude timber, you’ll find the world-class trophy mule deer you’re looking for.

It’s important to note that, due to the rough nature of the terrain and the need to avoid overburdening the horses, clients must weigh no more than 250 pounds to take part in this hunt. Being in good shape is very important.

It’s also strongly recommended that clients practice long-range marksmanship beforehand. Mountain hunts often require very long shots, often in the 200-300 yard range. Bring the best optics you have, both for glassing and for lining up your shot, as well as a good flat-shooting deer rifle.

You’ll need to purchase a special deer hunting license for this hunt.

This outfitter also offers hunts in Montana during November rut. These hunts are done by ranch truck, and offer a less physically demanding pursuit than the horseback hunts in Wyoming. This is a great choice whether you’re looking for the excitement of a hunt during the rut or simply for great trophies that aren’t quite as hard to get to.
