Hunting can be done during day and night. You may choose to go out on foot, in four-wheel drive vehicles, or particularly on horseback, a way that is most reccomended as a unique experience. During the day, professional guides will accompany you individually, and take you to every corner of the ranch, where certainly you will find the long-expected trophy. You can also hunt during nightime, from comfortable refuges located on strategic places, sharing the night habits of an endless variety of species, what is really an amazing experience.

In the season there can be Partridge Shooting and Dove Shooting. Also we have arrangements with Duck Shooting at El Fortín de San Miguel.

Pricing your Big Game Hunt in Uruguay

A standard package, comprising 6 nights and 5 full days of lodging at the ranch, is available. It includes a Red Deer trophy, an Axis Deer trophy and a Fallow Deer trophy. You can also change the Axis or Fallow trophy for 3 trophies of Boar and/or Feral Goat. The total price for this program is USD 6,000. The daily rate for companions is USD 100 per day/night (only 18 years up).

Lodging at Rincon de los Matreros

The present facilities, specially designed to serve and satisfy the taste of the most demanding hunters, were built on the reminder of the old stone and wood structure that dates back to 1900. This was done always in the intent of preserving the charm and history of the place.

There are suites available in a colonial style including stone, handcrafted bricks and wood, apart from the social area where you will find a large living room with a fireplace, a dining area, an indoor grill, and a wine cellar among other things. There are comfortable suites available, each with its own fireplace and dressing room. And most important of all, every room allows you spectacular views of the hills surrounding the main houses.

The rusticity in the house is contrasted by certain modern touches like electric energy, digital telephony, connection to the internet and satellite television.

In what regards gastronomy, you will have available a menu particularly elaborated by an expert Chef in the preparation of game meats, combined with garden vegetables and other home – made accompaniments.

Pasta, bread and preserves are all handcrafted at Rincon de los Matreros. And since a good meal calls for a good wine, you will be able to select it directly at the cellar, from a wide selection of top – level wines made in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.

At the end of the hunt, your trophy will be prepared following your preferences. Trophy fee includes field preparation and preservation; it doesn’t include taxidermy, export charges and shipping to final destination.

Gratuities: We prefer our guests to decide themselves what they consider appropriate, based on service quality, for both teams: guides and staff.

Where we are Located

Rincon de los Matreros is located in the heart of the of Treinta y Tres, the site is known as “Asperezas del Yerbal” because of the Yerbal river than passes across the area. The place is full of hills with countless water courses and natural forests covered with beautiful indigenous vegetation.

The average temperature: During the summer months is around 86º F, and it drops down to an average of 43º F during wintertime. There are no significant changes in temperature throughout the day, or during the night hours. Rain, which is not plentiful, prevails mostly in the months of May, June, and July. As far as climate is concerned, the better months are March, April, September, October and November, when the average temperatures range from 68 to 77º F and days are mainly sunny.

Uruguay offers an outstanding degree of
s ecurity for visitors, a fact that must be mentioned as one of its most remarkable advantages. Its characteristic friendly people are used to having visitors from abroad, something for which they are profoundly grateful. Lack of security is graded among the lowest in the world. It is a place where anyone can transit freely, even tourists, at any time of day and trough any areas in the city.

American Airlines and United Airlines offer a daily flight from Miami, New York and Los Angeles to Montevideo, with one stop at Buenos Aires. From Carrasco International Airport (Montevideo’s airport) to Rincon de los Matreros we take care, we shall travel 3 hours (to cover 300 km.) to arrive to the ranch.

Gun Permits

Entry of guns: At present, entry of rifles into the national territory is allowed only upon an express authorization by the Service of Weaponry and Supplies (Servicio de Material y Armamento ). The cost of each Firearm License is USD200 and such documents are to be requested 15 days in advance.

However, Rincon de los Matreros offers hunters a wide variety of rifles of several calibers and ammunition which may be tried out in our natural shooting gallery.
