If you’re looking for a true fair-chase South Dakota mule deer hunting trip on tens of thousands of acres of private land, then this is the right outfitter for you. Whether you’re interested in hunting trophy mule deer with bows, rifles, or muzzleloaders, their experienced guides will give you the best shot possible at bagging a monster buck.
This outfitter carefully manages the land you’ll be hunting—prairies and creek bottoms, fields and shelterbelts, food plots, and rough country—and strictly limits the number of hunters it works with every year to provide you with the best opportunities possible. To sweeten the deal even further, there are no trophy fees!
With this outfitter, you can usually count on seeing bucks that score from 140 to 160 points on your hunt—and often, you’ll see more than seventy deer a day! You can also choose to have a fully-guided or semi-guided hunt. Your guide will be a local hunter and rancher with years of experience, someone who’s intimately familiar with the land and its wildlife.
Your mule deer hunt will mainly be done with spot-and-stalk methods. There are also numerous stands and blinds that are kept in the field year-round so that the deer aren’t alarmed by them during the hunting season. Others are set up mid-season according to the deer’s movement patterns to get you as close as possible to your quarry, and portable blinds are available as well.
Be aware that there are certain point restrictions enforced in order to continue to provide great hunting for future years. If you don’t manage to take a trophy-worthy buck on your hunt (and the odds of that happening are very low), this outfitter can offer management hunting at the end of the trip so that you won’t go home empty-handed.
Rifle hunters must apply for tags before the season starts; bow hunting tags are guaranteed.
MEALS AND LODGING
Up to six adults can stay at the comfortable lodge, where you’ll find comfortable beds (including two full-sized beds for couples), two full bathrooms, satellite television, and telephone and internet access.
Breakfast supplies, a refrigerator, and a microwave are available in the lodge, and lunch is provided in the field. Homemade dinner and dessert is served at the end of every day. You may bring along your own alcoholic drinks, but none are provided at the lodge.
