Global
Sporting Safaris offers saltwater fishing for Trophy
Size Chinook Salmon in the calm waters off the Coast of Stuart
Island. While you salmon fishing at Nanook Lodge, you will experience
the spectacular scenery of British Columbia. Towering peaks plummet
into deep blue salmon filled waters. There are spectacular views
of wildlife at every turn. In addition to salmon fishing, you
can also bottom fish for lingcod and halibut.
The Fishing
The
prized Chinook noted for its size, fight, and taste, is the most
sought after by the experienced salmon fisherman. Nanook Lodge
will prepare your salmon for dinner, prepare it for shipment home,
or assist in release back to the wild.
Beginning in March, Nanook Lodge guides follow Pacific Salmon,
residents or transients, that are at various stages of their two
to seven year life cycles. Using large covered boats, you will
salmon fish the "Inside Passage". The ride is smooth,
the water is tame, and the conveniences are close at hand on Stuart
Island.
HELICOPTER Fly fishing: Another fantastic adventure
at Nanook Lodge entails leaving from our heli-pad in a Bell Ranger
or Long Ranger for a day of river fishing for Sea Run Cutthroat
Trout, Dolly Varden, Steelhead and Salmon fishing.
During
March and April, flyfish or spincast for numerous hookups with
sea run cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden char and occasional steelhead.
Three to five anglers travel a short distance from the lodge to
numerous rivers and streams for a day they won't soon forget.
From the air, enjoy spectacular views of wildlife, glaciers and
ocean inlets. Deer, grizzly and black bear, eagles, orcas, and
other coastal animals are abundant.
Choose a three or four day package, including one day of ocean
angling for Chinook salmon. Daily river angling rates per person
begin at US$800. 00
When
August arrives, so do numerous salmon in the surrounding rivers.
Depending upon which variety of the five species of Pacific salmon
in our area you wish to pursue, half or full day trips by helicopter
can be arranged to complete your ocean fishing package. Bright,
silver salmon will wear down the keenest angler. Sightseeing and
wildlife viewing are an option too should you wish to take a break
from the fishing package. Ask for this optional price which is
dependent upon the number of anglers.
