The Togiak Wildlife Refuge near Dillingham, Alaska encompasses over 4 million acres of some of the best brown bear habitat on earth! Because its status as a federal refuge, outfitters must go through a rigorous application process in order to operate in the unit. Upon selection of a unit, the outfitter is awarded exclusive rights to that area. DCA has secured hunts with two Master Guides in the "Tog.” That's 2 million plus acres for no more than 10 hunters per season! Imagine being only one of very few people to have ever set foot in this pristine Alaskan wilderness. Bears average over 9 feet with even larger bears taken every fall.
This is a full-on spike-camp hunt and you must be in good physical condition. All hunts are conducted 1x1. You and your guide will spend your day glassing blueberry-filled hillsides and salmon choked rivers until you spot a bear worthy of a stalk…then the hunt is on! Some hunts will be located on bodies of water in which case you have be using small zodiacs to cruise the shoreline for giant Togiak brownies.
