Elk Hunting - In privately owned Saskatchewan timberlands, you will encounter world-class elk and whitetail hunting beyond your wildest imagination. While trophy hunting with us, your greatest concern will most likely be enlarging your trophy room when you return home! This outfitter is dedicated to offering you an all-inclusive, unsurpassed hunting experience and to providing peerless personal service for every aspect of your hunting vacation.
Our Location - Only 1½ hours north of Saskatoon and easily accessible by road, our fully furnished lodge provides all modem amenities, bedding, towels, a full-time cook, and a big screen satellite TV for watching your favorite hunting videos. The homelike, family atmosphere at this lodge provides a perfect environment for family participation. Elk Hunters are welcomed to bring their spouse and family members with them. We can accommodate up to 10 hunters per week.
How we hunt - Hunt on a 1500 acre private Saskatchewan ranch. In the early fall, when the bull elk are bugling, there is nothing more exciting than calling a giant enraged bull into bow, rifle or muzzleloader range. When the calling subsides, the elk are hunted by ambushing them from blinds or tree stands, in accordance with the preference of the hunter. Our professional Saskatchewan elk hunting guides will always be on hand to assist you in selecting your ultimate trophy.
How to find us - Fly into the Saskatoon International Airport, where we will make arrangements to meet you and transport you to the lodge, or you if prefer to drive to our facility on your own, car rentals are available at the Saskatoon airport. Driving maps available upon request.
What to bring - Bring soft, quiet hunting clothing to suit the season. Early fall will range from frosty mornings to T-shirt weather in the afternoons. Late season hunts in October through December may drop well below freezing. Bring comfortable hunting boots to match the weather conditions. Canadian weather is very unpredictable. Bring casual camp dress for your non-hunting hours, as well as your personal toiletries. That's really all you'll need.
Hunting Gear - Hunters may bring bows, crossbows or rifles or both, as this area accommodates both styles of hunting perfectly. It is best to bring your own ammunition and general hunting tackle with you, but if necessary, ammo can be purchased at the lodge.
All non-Canadian residents entering Canada with a firearm will be required to complete a mandatory Non-Resident Firearm Declaration. This form must be presented when clearing Canada Customs upon entry with a registration fee of $50 paid in Canadian currency. Larson Lake Outfitters will mail you the necessary forms upon request, or they may be downloaded from the Canadian Firearms Centre website at www.cfc-ccafgc.ca or by calling them at 1-800-731-4000. Note: Handguns are strictly prohibited and may not be imported into Canada.
Hunting Licenses - Because this ranch is a private hunting entity, no provincial hunting license is required for Saskatchewan elk hunts. The outfitter will provide all required documentation and export papers for your game.
Taxidermy & Meat Processing - Inclusive in the hunt package with this outfitter is all antler preparation, cleaning and caping for shipping elk trophies home with the hunter. However, local taxidermy and subsequent shipping of trophies can also be arranged at the hunter's expense.
