South Dakota Merriam Turkey Hunting We are proud to offer some of South Dakota's best West River Turkey hunting. Without a doubt, this is some of the best Merriam turkey hunting to be found anywhere in North America, let alone South Dakota.

Every year as spring returns, brings a heart racing sound of an old gobbler, strutting, and gobbling. When you hunt with us, you could see 25 or more different strutting gobblers in one day. You will be hunting on over 50,000 private acres on creek bottoms and fields with an unbelievable number of turkeys. No matter what level of turkey hunter you are, you will enjoy a turkey hunt with us.

This outfitter offers fully guided and semi-guided South Dakota and Iowa turkey hunts. We offer hunts for the Merriam Prairie Spring Turkey (2 gobbler tags) and the Black Hills Turkey (1 gobbler tag) in South Dakota. We also offer Eastern Spring Turkey (1 gobbler tag) in Iowa. South Dakota Merriam Prairie Spring Turkey tags are Guaranteed Tags through the state lottery and Black Hills tags are available through the state lottery as well and are also Guaranteed Tags. The Iowa Eastern Turkey hunt is also an excellent option for hunters, with gun and bow, tags available by state lottery. We provide our turkey hunters with Double Bull Blinds and turkey decoys.

South Dakota Turkey Hunting - This hunt is first class all the way around, “A true Merriam Turkey hunt.” Our Merriam Turkey’s weigh from 16 to 22 pounds, with a spur length range from ¾ to 1 ¾, and beards from 8 to 10+ inches. Temperatures this time of year range from 40 to 70 degrees during the day and from 25 to 45 at night.

With over 26 years of hunting and guiding experience, we guarantee you turkey hunting action that few hunters have ever experienced. Whether you choose to hunt with gun or bow, you will be assured of numerous sightings with multiple opportunities at long beards.

We offer assistance with all hunting applications for archery and/or firearms hunting, just contact us and we will help you through the application process. Bow hunting is unlimited (guaranteed tag) and shotgun hunting is by a lottery drawing (almost guaranteed). South Dakota drawings are held in February, March, and April. We can sometimes get tags in May.

Lodging, comfortable beds, satellite tv, wireless internet, home cooked meals, beverages and snacks provided. Pick-up arrangements can be made from the Rapid City, SD airport.
