This voyage to the central-southern and southern areas of Chilean Patagonia covers over 1111 kilometers/600 nautical miles from the bay of Puerto Montt (latitude 41°S and longitude 72°W) to the Taitao peninsula (latitude 46°S and longitude 73°W).
Our unique journey through a hidden area of Patagonia enables our guests to enjoy a superb combination of blending glaciers, snowcapped peaks, summits and volcanoes of the southern Andes with luxuriant cold jungle forest, as well as abundant rivers, lakes and lagoons.
The airport in Puerto Montt, El Tepual, where three airlines have regular flights from Santiago, Punta Arenas, Balmaceda, Concepción, Temuco and Bariloche (Argentina). The airlines operating at the airport are LAN Airlines (the country's largest), Sky Airlines and Air Comet Chile. The flight to Santiago takes two hours.
The Mother ship’s cabins have been built with extreme care, emphasizing the importance of comfort and safety above all things. You’ll also find an exquisite décor and refined taste, so you definitely won’t miss anything from home. You’ll also feel our warm and attentive service during your trip.
There are 10 deluxe twin cabins and 2 deluxe king cabins located on the second deck and 2 premium king cabins on the forth.
Each cabin has a private bathroom with hair dryers, air conditioning and heat controls, safe deposit box, electricity plugs, as well as storage in drawers and under the bed. Each room has panoramic windows to enjoy the breathtaking sites we shall visit.
There is a spacious and comfortable combination lounge, dining room and bar area in the boat deck. This is where you would do much of your socializing and eat your meals. The setting is casual and filled with fun and entertainment. In this area you can find books, DVD’s and music to complement your stay.
In cabins and common areas there are electricity sockets available for you to plug in your personals (220 volts with L type sockets), so we recommend bringing along adaptors if necessary.
The Nomads Patagonian adventure acquires an entire new meaning aboard Atmosphere with the delicious culinary varieties, refined Chilean wine tastings and the joy of newfound friendships in beautiful surroundings.
Nomads` gastronomy is one of the many treats passengers can experience on board. It is the gateway to a unique and yet unexplored gastronomy: Patagonian cuisine. Its distinctive feature is the wide variety of native ingredients found in the southern part of Chile and used in traditional Chilean preparations. Its repertoire includes fish such as salmon, grouper and hake; among shellfish are abalone, sea urchin, krill and king crab. Red meats include lamb, beef and also a few game birds.
Patagonian food preparations will be presented in frequent gourmet events throughout the journey aboard Atmosphere, all accompanied with special Chilean wines carefully selected for each course by our sommelier, including some varieties hard to find in the market.
After savoring each gastronomic adventure take some time off to enjoy a wide variety of cigars that can be found on board and exquisite drinks carefully prepared by our bar tenders.
Nomads of the Seas Ultimate Fly Fishing program is, without a doubt, an experience full of adventures and surprises that will captivate the hearts of all courageous explorers that go deep into this adventure. Reaching places where man has never been before, fishing in places that haven’t suffered human alterations, pollution or any kind of intervention other than that of Mother Nature is the privilege that our guests will experience with Nomads of the Seas and its Ultimate Fly Fishing program.
To keep its promise, Nomads of the Seas relies on its cutting edge aero-maritime transport system consisting of a Bell 407 helicopter, 6 jet-boats, a Hurricane 920 RIB zodiac, and other lesser watercrafts such as zodiacs and catacrafts. Meanwhile, 36 McKenzie boats and 12 jetskiffs are placed in strategic spots of the Patagonia, readily available for fishing trips in deeper territory. This equipment allows us to penetrate into the most secluded rivers, lagoons and mountains, some of them lying untouched and unseen, waiting to be discovered.
In Ultimate Fly-Fishing, the angler may become part of a scouting team, which adds a whole new dimension to each expedition. There is no such thing as being bound to a specific location; groups are free to explore privileged sites, including some that have rarely, if ever, seen a fishing line. Due to these conditions, trophy catches are not hard to find at Nomads.

Low Season: Oct / Nov / Dec 6-13-20 / Mar 21-28 /Apr
We insist that passengers bring their own gear, however in case of an emergency; we have some limited rental gear on board.
We suggest bringing along for your trip the following gear:
Rods: One 6 weight, 9 foot, 4 piece fast action rod is the most used in Patagonia. However sometimes a 5 and 7 weight rod comes in handy. We suggest that you take at least one pack rod that you can carry on to the plane.
Reels: High quality, disc-drag models with a minimum of 150 yards of backing.
Line: Line according to the rod weight, mini Tips for nymphing, one shooting tipper Line (150 to 250 grains), and one line WF for dry fly fishing.
Accessories: Forceps, line snipers, and fishing vest or chest pack
FISHING CLOTHES
We suggest medium weight under garments in November, December, middle of March and April as they work the best. Light weight garments can be used during the rest of the season, January, February and middle of March.
During January we recommend you abstain from using blue colored clothes as in some areas there might be horse flies that are specially attracted to this colors.
We suggest bringing the following fishing garments:
Waders: Breathable waders preferably Gore-tex
Wading Shoes: Light pair, comfortable (no spikes), with felt soles and gravel guards are necessary. We discourage the use of waders with incorporated boots as you will walk a fair amount in them.
Shirts: blend ventilated fishing shirts
Socks: Medium to heavy weight socks must accompany your outfit.
Insulation: Optional, for under your waders, we recommend Patagonia Capeline.
Rain Jacket: Water and windproof
ACCESSORIES
Bags: Soft luggage and duffle bags are much easier to handle and pack.
Dry bags are a must for excursions (Cascade design or NRS).
Sun Glasses: These must be polarized
Sunscreen: SPF 30 or higher. Waterproof is best (you can get easily sunburned).
Sun Blocking Lip Balm
Photo Camera and Extra Batteries
Binoculars: Optional. It`s best if you are going on an ecotourism trip.
Temperatures in Patagonia are not extremely low due to the influence of the sea and the action of the winds; hence, the coldest months are rarely below 4°C / 39°F. Conversely, on warmer days thermometers may rise up to 20° C/ 68° F; an actual proof of how changeable weather in Patagonia may be. With a proper dressing, this fact should not get in the way of experiencing the Nomad adventure.
