Hunting Overview

Duck hunting starts early in the morning. Breakfast is served at 5.00 am consisting of coffee, toasts, jams, bacon and eggs, etc. Duck hunting goes on until 9:00am, when you go back to the Lodge to relax, freshen up, take a siesta and get ready for lunch: a starter course with salads, fruit, a main course of beef, chicken, pork or seafood, and a great dessert, served with coffee,  wine, beer, soft drinks or bottled water.

Then you can rest or even take a siesta until 2:30-3:00 pm when you go back to the fields to  shoot for doves, perdiz, or pigeons until evening and head back to the Lodge, normally only a 10-20 minute drive to have drinks and talk about the days hunting.

Before dinner you will be served game, a wide variety of cheeses, ham, olives and drinks prior to dinner. Dinner consists of three courses (starter, a main course and dessert).

The lodge is fully equipped with trucks, vans, boats and experienced guides who know every area of the waterfowl locations and flyways to fulfill the expectations of all of the hunters.

Argentina Duck Hunting: Duck hunting is the main activity in this area and our country is, without a doubt, a great choice particularly duck hunting. Reserves in Entre Rios province are a permanent habitat for the different duck species of Argentina, such as: White-faced Whistling-duck, Yellow-billed Pintail, Speckled Teal, Red Shoveler, Cinnamon Teal, White-cheeked Pintail, Silver Teal, Rosy-billed Pochard, Brazilian Duck, Ringed Teal, Black-headed duck, etc. The unique grounds, the water wealth and this great delta of streams, lagoons and marshes, turn this area into a particularly attractive habitat for ducks and a variety of aquatic animal species.

For the duck hunting, that takes part in the morning or in the afternoon; local hunters are placed individually or in pairs in different areas previously selected by the head guide. Every hunter is accompanied by a guide and a bird boy, to the hunting place in 4x4 light trucks or Vans. Hunters may be shooting by a lagoon, lake or in the river system of islands from blinds located near the water. Every spot will have decoys set up, and every hunter will be assisted by a bird-boy whose job is to make sure the hunter’s needs are catered for. Bird-boys will use typical duck calls. Our duck hunts typically produce 20-25 ducks per shooter within the mornings first hour of shooting.

Argentina Dove Hunting: The dove shooting, takes part during the afternoon, and in this area you will have the chance to shoot more than 1000 cartridges per outing. Most of the dove flyways are located just 5-10-minute drive from the lodge.

Argentina Perdiz Hunting: Some of the very best perdiz hunting in Argentina is on ranch all within 10-20 minutes from the Lodge using Brittany pointing dogs. The perdiz limit is eight birds per hunter.

Argentina Pigeon Hunting: Decoying Pigeon Hunting is also available to hunt in this area. Scouts are sent out to find the pigeon feeding areas and flyways, and blinds are built and decoys set out prior to the hunters arriving. The Pigeon Hunts normally produce 90-150 pigeons per blind with both decoying pigeons and pass shooting.

Species Available

For our duck hunters, the most common species found in this area are : White-faced Whistling-duck, Yellow-billed Pintail, Speckled Teal, Red Shoveler, Cinnamon Teal, White-cheeked Pintail, Silver Teal, Rosy-billed Pochard, Brazilian Duck, Ringed Teal, Black-headed duck.

For Dove hunters we have millions of golden eared dove and for our pigeon hunters we predominately have the Spot Wing Pigeons, plus occasionally the larger Picazuro Pigeons, and the common perdiz partridges are located on the Lodge ranch in great numbers.

Season(s) and Optimum Dates

The Duck and Perdiz season in Entre Rios is from May 1-Aug.10 with 20-25 ducks per person for our Duck Hunts, and 8-bird limits the norm for our Perdiz Hunts. The Dove and Pigeon season is all year long with 1000 -1500 rounds per dove shoot and 45-90 pigeons per hunter for our decoying pigeon shoots.

The optimum time for the Golden Dorado Fishing is Oct.15- Apr.15 each year when the waters of the Parana River are warmer. At these times many Dorado in the 5-12 lbs. category are caught with occasional Dorado over 20 lbs.
