At this Lodge, our clients can enjoy superb Argentina duck and dove shooting, along with great angling for Golden Dorado – the legendary sport fish of South America. The estancia is located in the province of Santa Fe , along the banks of the San Javier River, near the town of Romang about 320 miles north of Buenos Aires. This area of Argentina has long been known for world-class waterfowl hunting, dove hunting and Dorado fishing. Due to an alarming increase in the duck population, the provincial authorities of Santa Fe Province have extended the duck hunting seasons in this area to help protect the local rice farmers from losing their valuable crops. Duck limits are very liberal and a daily bag of 25 ducks per hunter per shoot, 50 ducks per day, for those duck hunting both mornings and afternoons is the norm.
Dove hunting in this region is also very strong and hunters can expect to shoot up to 50 boxes per day. Also, this is the only area of Argentina where one can combine great duck and dove hunting during the prime Golden Dorado fishing months.
During early February thru April, our clients can hunt ducks and dove, and our anglers can expect to catch Dorado from 5 to 12 lbs, with the occasional fish up to 20 lbs. The freshwater Golden Dorado is considered to be the most challenging game fish in all of South America.
The Argentina duck hunting and dove hunting and perdiz hunting is normally done within 30 minute drives from the Lodge in the Parana River, local lagoons, rice fields and farm lands.
All hunters taking commercial flights will arrive and depart from the Santa Fe Airport via daily commercial flights from Buenos Aires.
We also can arrange private charter flights available for groups which fly directly into Santa Fe Airport or Romang Airport if chartering a smaller plane from Buenos Aires. Representatives of the Lodge will meet you upon arrival at either airport and transport you to the Lodge.
Transfer from the airport in Santa Fe will be accomplished by either truck, or van depending upon the size of the group. All vehicles will be air-conditioned for your traveling comfort.
The Estancia has all the necessary services to accommodate six (6) hunters. The Lodge has three deluxe double bedrooms, all en-suite with private bath, a large kitchen, a great room/dining room, and a room with satellite TV for the guests, and an outdoor swimming pool, all overlooking the Parana river .
The Lodge receives great reviews for its atmosphere, food, wine and service. The meals are prepared by a professional chef and include an excellent selection of prime Argentine beef, chicken, ribs, sausages, seafood and pastas. These fine meals are complemented with a selection of premium Mendoza Salentein wines including Cabernet, Malbec, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc wines for a truly memorable dining experience.
The noon asado barbeques are also a wonderful dining experience with gourmet Argentine beef, ribs and sausages – all of which are wood grilled to perfection, with salads, and fresh fruits, and desserts. As stated above, the Asado BBQ is normally served outside in the garden area near the swimming pool area overlooking the river.
Beverages available at the lodge include bottled water, soft drinks, local beer, fine wines and a full open bar with a selection of hard liquors.
Argentina Duck hunting is the main activity in this area and our location is, without a doubt, a great choice for duck hunting. The Santa Fe Province where the Lodge is located is a permanent inhabitant for most of the different duck species of Argentina. The unique grounds, the water wealth and this great delta of streams, lagoons and marshes, turn this area into a particularly attractive habitat for ducks and all of the variety of aquatic animal species.
The Argentina duck hunting normally takes place in the morning or in the late afternoon with typical shoots averaging 25 ducks per hunter. Hunters are placed individually, or in pairs in different areas previously selected by the head guide. Every hunter is accompanied by a guide and a bird boy, to the hunting place in 4x4 light trucks. Hunters may be shooting by a lagoon from blinds located near or in the water. Every spot will have decoys set up and every hunter will be assisted by a bird-boy whose job is to make sure the hunter’s needs are catered for. Bird-boys will use typical whistling duck calls.
The Argentina dove shooting normally takes place during the afternoon, and in this area you will have the chance to shoot more than 1000 cartridges per outing. Perdiz hunts are also usually made during the late mornings or afternoons using trained Brittney and Pointer dogs
:
