Alaska Yenta River Fishing

Come join us for an Alaskan fishing vacation that will be nothing short of unforgettable. It is our philosophy that whatever the guest wants, the guest can have; whether it's a day of King Salmon fishing, a day out on one of the rivers fishing for Sockeye salmon, or a simple day of sight seeing…our motto is “yes we can”! We keep it this way so we can personalize each guest's Alaskan Salmon fishing and keep true to our philosophy. The maximum number of guests at our lodge is kept to six to twelve guests at any one given time of the salmon season-with exceptions for large groups. All of our equipment for King Salmon, Silver Salmon, Chum Salmon, Pink Salmon, Sockeye Salmon and native Rainbow Trout fishing are top of the line. During your stay you will be given fully guided service, as well as three meals a day in a comfortable family living style atmosphere.

Location(s) of Fishing Trip

We are located 65 Miles Northwest of Anchorage on the beautiful Yentna River-just below Denali National Park, and the Alaska Range. Our fly-out service allows us a very large and diverse area, and we fish the tributaries of the Yentna River, Lake Creek, Fish Lake Creek, and many other remote fishing spots.

Arrival/Departure Airport(s)

The primary jumping-off point for your Alaskan fishing adventure begins in Anchorage, AK. Anchorage International Airport is accessible by many major cities in the lower 48, and we recommend that you arrive one day ahead of your bush flight and stay in Anchorage overnight. This will rest you and get rid of any stress and jet lag from traveling, and prepare you for your bush flight the following day.

Mode of Transportation

Once you have arrived in Anchorage, you will then board a bush flight to Yentna River, Lake Creek, Alaska.  We recommend using Trail Ridge Air, and round-trip flights generally cost approximately $220 per person.

A wonderful addition to your Alaskan fishing experience is a fly-out trip to many of the pristine rivers of the Alaskan wilderness. We offer trips to any destination in Alaska upon request. Having the option to fly allows for us to customize your Alaskan adventure, and to further ensure a diverse fishing experience for our guests.

Lodging

Our lodging is very comfortable, located only 400 yards from the river in the pristine fish lakes region of the Yentna River, Lake Creek area, tucked away-for the true Alaskan seclusion and outdoor adventure which you, our guest, wish to achieve during your true Alaska experience. Our lodge is a 2-story home, with comfort for groups of 6 to 8 individuals. Sleeping space consists of single-size bunk beds, with storage space for gear in a communal sleeping area, and 2-bunk cabins. We keep our bookings to small families and friends groups to ensure your comfort. Downstairs is the kitchen, which boasts a small 4-person bar for gathering after a great day on the river, and a large wooden dining table for enjoying our home-cooked meals. The bathroom has a stand-up shower, clean toilet, and a sink for washing. Outside, we have a deck for gathering with overhead tents, tables and chairs, as well as fire pits and barbeque areas which we use to make meals during the summer months. Our lodge also has a living room area with couches, chairs, and wood stove for heat and comfort. A TV with limited local channels is available, along with phone and internet access for our guests.

Food and Beverages

All meals are prepared just like grandma made it…all comfort food. For example, you can expect a hot plate of pancakes or waffles for breakfast, and meat loaf or a nice pot roast and mashed potatoes for dinner, with pies, cookies and more to satisfy the sweet tooth. Like we say…welcome to the family!

Fishing Overview

We are a full-service fishing lodge and outfitter, and it is our primary goal is to allow our guests the ability to tailor their own Alaskan fishing vacation with us. We have one guide to a maximum of four guests, and our guide will stay with you during the entirety of your stay. The Yentna River at Lake Creek is a glacial river, and is very energetic with many islands and sand bars. The fresh water streams that feed the river provide some of the most dynamic fishing in Alaska. The Department of Alaska Fish and Game has reported over the last five years that our fish runs have steadily grown, and will continue to be one of the heaviest trafficked spawning grounds for Pacific species of Salmon in the state. We also fish seven other remote Alaskan Salmon rivers, which means your adventure only starts with Lake Creek. With all five species of Salmon to target, as well as Rainbow Trout and Arctic Grayling, we can assure that you will have the Alaskan fishing vacation of a lifetime.
