One of Global Sporting Safaris tops picks for spring brown bear hunting is Admiralty Island. Admiralty Island is a beautiful, rugged, mountainous Island with one of the highest population densities of Brown Bears in the world.
Global Sporting Safaris outfitting partner is truly fortunate to be permitted to conduct our operations on Admiralty Island and the Kootznoowoo Wilderness area of Tongass National Forest.
What clients really enjoy about the spring hunts is the diversity of life they see each day in the field. They commonly see humpback whales, orca whales, sea lions, seals, porpoise, black tail deer, otter, mink and dozens of other wildlife and waterfowl species.
There are a lot of Bears on Admiralty Island. Bear size on the island generally averages between eight to nine feet squared. These bears are generally a dark brown color with light gold tips. The spring hair is long and luxurious and makes a truly magnificent trophy.
Camp consists of a wall tent for cooking and large dome tents with cots for sleeping. Camp is comfortable and located in a idyllic setting under huge old growth spruce, hemlock and fir trees on a small spit of land between a salt water cove and a freshwater creek. Our dining fare is excellent and you can expect to gain weight.
You will hunt the coast by Zodiac from our land based camp. The bears are frequenting the coastline foraging for the first fresh green grasses, ferns, buds, etc… of the spring. Other times the boars are traveling the coastal shore in search of a sows scent path since it is the beginning of the breeding season.
Hunters of all physical abilities can enjoy this hunt.
