Wyoming is the country’s tenth largest state, but also its least populated. That leaves a lot of room for open country and wilderness. In other words, there is a lot of room for fishermen and other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy. There are numerous spots across Wyoming that offer great fly fishing – so many that you’ll likely be unable to visit them all in one trip to the state. While many people may want to do things their own way and gain the satisfaction of knowing that they did so, hiring a Wyoming fly fishing guide is worth every penny.
The main reason that fishing guides are so useful is that, as mentioned above, there are countless fishing destinations. From Yellowstone and the Grand Teton Park to the Green River and numerous other rivers and creeks, there are miles upon miles of Wyoming fly fishing destinations. While the fish are plentiful, there are obviously certain fishing holes that are better than others and a guide will likely know just where these ‘honey holes’ are located. And certain stretches of rivers are filled with others on their own fishing trip. If you’re hoping for isolation and relaxation when you journey into the wilderness, a guide can help you find the spots others don’t visit often.
Safety is always important, and while Wyoming fly fishing can be one of the most relaxing activities you’ll ever do, it does carry some risks. For example, Yellowstone is home to eighteen different types of fish that you can land. It’s also home to grizzly bears, gray wolves, and prairie rattlesnakes. Unless you know what to do when dealing with animals like this, you could be in a dire situation if you find yourself face to face with one. Guides can not only help you deal with threats, but they can also just keep an eye on you in case minor things happen such as a twisted ankle. Walking out of the wilderness with only one good leg can be a nightmare.
The final reason that hiring guide may be a good idea is simply to simply catch more fish. You’ll need a fishing license and possibly permits, and different regulations are enforced in different areas of Wyoming. In the parks and other areas, catch and release laws are strictly enforced. Your guide can help ensure that you fish in areas that you’re allowed to and that you do so legally. You can try to go it yourself, but a guide can help ensure that your Wyoming fly fishing trip is one of the best experiences of your life.

March 22, 2011/Park County, MT/ – FlyFishing.us.com is pleased to announce the appointment of Slade Fedore as our Number One recommended choice for Fly Fishing Guide of Park County, Montana.
Slade Fedore grew up in Wyoming chasing fish for fun. Every free second was devoted to fly fishing on the famous waters of the North Platte or hunting on the family ranch. In 2005, he followed his passion to college, which made Bozeman, MT the ONLY choice. The number of incredible rivers in the area that offer such a wide variety of fishing is why I now call this area home.
I am honored and humbled to have been selected as the featured professional fly fishing guide for Park County, MT from FlyFishing.us.com. The fact that you are reading this means you share the same passion I do for the sport of fly fishing. I would love the opportunity to put you on a big fish. Feel free to call me anytime with any questions you may have. If you have not experienced this part of the world, or happen to be a regular, let me show it to you from my perspective. Great fly fishing memories in the making…

March 19, 2011/Casper, WY/ – FlyFishing.us.com is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Anderson as our Number One recommended choice for Fly Fishing Guide of Natrona County, Wyoming.
Ryan Anderson has been guiding for 13 years, 2 seasons in Alaska as a fly out fly fishing guide and 11 seasons here on the North Platte. Ryan has fished all over the world but truly loves his home water in Wyoming.
He is a Casper native that grew up learning how to cast (in the wind) from his father and grandfather. He had a fly rod in his hand at the age of 5. By 12 he was Dennis the Menace but armed with a fly rod instead of a sling shot. The trout in the small mountain streams around Casper didn’t stand a chance against this little “trout punk”.
Now 30, Ryan is the new owner of the guide service. His enthusiasm brings new energy to the business, and he has been working hard to put together the best guide staff. Ryan enjoys the outdoors; loves to be on the river and can always have a good time. As he puts it “I am lucky because I have been able to combine my passion with my livelihood. I knew what I wanted to do from a very young age, I wanted to fly fish. Guiding someone into a big trout, and netting it, is the closest thing I’ve found to fishing myself. For me it has the same excitement, same adrenaline, everything. I love this Job!”
