The outdoor sportsman long remembers the successful hunt. Recounting the thrill associated with tracking an animal and then capturing their prey, the pride is evident as they convey their story. Time spent improving upon their skill level and learning the habits of wildlife is useful to help locate various animals. For the hunter that is seeking to experience a new adventure, black bear hunting presents an opportunity like never encountered before. The growing popularity of this sport has led many people on unique adventures that allow a chance to escape the pressures of the modern workplace. An excursion to bond with nature can be combined with an extraordinary getaway.
One of the factors that contribute to the growing desire for people to go on a black bear hunting vacation is the ability to partake of this sport in either the spring or fall. Both times of year also allow the opportunity to go on the hunt for other wildlife. Escaping to a mountain resort for an extended camping trip in bear country allows a time to unwind and gain a better understanding of the natural world. Living off the land either alone or with a group is an exceptional experience that allows greater appreciation for the wonders of nature.
There are a number of viable options open to the hunter seeking to experience the thrill of capture during a black bear hunting trip. Vacation packages are offered in a number of different parts of North America in beautiful surroundings. The prices are affordable enough that even the most casual sportsman could consider going on this expedition. The opportunity to explore less travelled areas like our forefathers helps to gain a better understanding of what life was like before the modern age. The trip will truly be one for the ages that will be long remembered.
Nothing can quite compare to the delight that comes from the exhilaration of successfully tracking and shooting prey. Black bear hunting presents the opportunity to experience the most basic fight of man against nature. With overpopulation becoming a problem, the trip is a sustainable way to protect the species. For the uninitiated, travelling with experienced hunters will ensure that the trip is an electrifying experience. Coming home with the prize of the hunt will amaze friends and colleagues. Regardless of the method used to stalk the animal, a successful hunt will be a significant achievement in the career of the sportsman.

March 19, 2011/ Shepherdsville, KY / – Global Sporting Safaris, Inc. (GSS) is pleased to announce that the ALS Association of Kentucky “Hunt for a Cure” banquet raised over $3,550 to help find a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) through our hunting trip donation program. The “Hunt for a Cure” event was established four years ago by Mitch Ensor (long–time legend in the hunting industry) his family, and colleagues. Mitch understands all too well the effects of ALS. Although his battle with this disease has left him confined to a wheelchair, Mitch has remained an active hunter and advocate for the ALS Association. He combined his love for hunting and the outdoors with his desire to help raise funds for research that may someday lead to a cure. Toni Johnson and Kenny Ball, co-chairs of the 4th annual “Hunt for a Cure” banquet, and a group of selfless volunteers put together another successful event.
Global Sporting Safaris’ Katie Luthy of Sheridan traveled to Shepherdsville, KY, to volunteer at the banquet and donated an Argentina as well as a New Zealand big game hunting safari.
“This was my first experience with the ALS Association,” says Katie Luthy, Global Sporting Safaris consultant. “I cannot express how moving it was to work side-by-side with these dedicated volunteers. These are truly great people supporting an amazing cause. THIS is the very reason GSS developed the hunt donation program. We want to help organizations and volunteers raise money for worthy causes. I look forward to assisting the ALS Association of Kentucky at future events.”
“We have put together three high quality hunting donations that allows Global Sporting Safaris (GSS) to give back to the ‘not for profit’ organizations that help to promote our industry and our passion,” says Rick Kennerknecht, CEO of Global Sporting Safaris.
Global Sporting Safaris (GSS) makes theses donations available to 501c3, 501c4 or 501c6 organizations and there are a limited number of hunting trips available each year. The outfitters in this fundraising program offer 5-Star accommodations, excellent hunting areas, professional staff, exquisite local cuisine and trophy quality animals. We have personally visited each outfitter to assure quality and a positive experience for our clients. Details can be found at www.gssafaris.com/fundraising
At the conclusion of the fundraising event, a GSS hunting consultant will be assigned to each auction winner. Our consultants will work with each winner to ensure that everything goes smoothly both before and after the hunt.

March 23, 2011/ Aguascalientes, Mexico/ – Global Sporting Safaris is pleased to announce the offering of Goulds Turkey Hunting in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
The State of “Aguascalientes”, recognized internationally as one of the best hunting destinations for the Gould’s Turkey, is located in central Old Mexico. The unique nature of the mountainous terrain makes for some of the best Gould’s Turkey habitat in the world. Aguascalientes is also one of the more tranquil and safe States in Mexico and is very accessible by international flights. The city of Aguascalientes is often considered by the locals to be the safest and cleanest city in Mexico. Also, the city of Aguascalientes is known as “the land of good people”.
Gould’s Turkey hunting takes place in the internationally renowned “Rancho Antrialgo”. The Ranch is located just an hour plus drive northwest of the State Capital of the same name, in the heart of the “Sierra Fria” (Cold Mountain) Mountain Range which is part of the western “Sierra Madre” Mountain Range. Located at 8,000 ft above sea level, it has high mesas, canyons and mountains which make up three different landscapes: prairies and oak & pine forests.
The Gould’s Turkey is the largest of the 5 recognized turkey subspecies in the Americas, its larger feet, longer legs and larger center tail feathers make them without a doubt one of the most impressive of the turkey subspecies. The Gould’s turkeys in Aguascalientes may sport from up to 3 beards, measuring as much as 10+” long! Their spurs will usually measure about ¾” to 1”. The pure white bands on the tail feathers are truly a magnificent characteristic of this magnum of a turkey. According to the NWTF records, the current #12 and #32 ranked Gould’s Turkeys have been harvested in the State of Aguascalientes in Old Mexico.
The NWTF, now recognizing the Mexican Turkey Slam in its wild turkey records program, states that for a hunter to complete the Mexican Slam, it consists of the Gould’s, Ocellated and Rio turkeys being harvested in Old Mexico. Once a hunter completes a Mexican Turkey Slam, he is well on his way to complete the Royal and then the World Turkey Slams.
Even though this is a “Mountain” hunt, Goulds turkey hunting will be done from blinds and walking through animal trails and fields, so the difficulty level could be considered mild to medium. You will always set the pace of the hunt for the guides, and both GSS and Rancho Antrialgo will work with you if you have special or limited mobility needs, so there is no strenuous effort required for this hunt on your part.
